Team Spirit

She could be on a hair entry also.

These moms have got to be the best examples of team spirit!
Im told the one in the purple doesn't even have a boy who plays.
Im all for going to the games and cheering
and being supportive of my kids.
However, I've gotta draw the line at
face painting!

Good Night Moon

This is the book that reminds me of when the kids were little and wanted a story before bed.

 Why?  Why?  Why?

Why is the whole bedtime ritual so grueling?
(Did I spell that right?)
Every night for the last how many years we
have done the same things.
You shower, brush your teeth, put your jammies on
and read for 2o minutes.
That is unless you lolly-gag so much that there is no time for reading.
However every night at least one of the boys if not all, finds about
a million or more reasons to keep getting
up out of bed.
There is the 'I have to tell you good night.'
The 'I need a drink of water.'
The 'I need to go to the bathroom 5 times.'
And the greatest is the 'I forgot to do my homework.'
Which sends me through the roof.
I guess it's better that they don't completely forget it.
I just wish they would remember it a little earlier.
You have had many hours to do the homework but
save it till you are already in bed and half asleep.
We also get the 'will you come check on me?'
If you get out of bed too many times you
will not be checked on!
By the time they are all in bed and asleep it has taken hours to
get to that point and it makes you want to start the whole process a whole lot earlier the next day at like 6:30.
Maybe if we started that early they would be in bed by midnight.
Can you tell that I was a little frustrated with he festivities of the night?
Oh well there is always tomorrow night we can fight for perfection!!

 Good luck with that!!

What Should I Do?

OK so have you ever had one of those times where you wondered
what your purpose was in life?
Well not too long ago I was having those thoughts.
The kids had all gone back to school.
I would work 2 days a week, do the laundry,
run my errands, clean the house and then I felt I had a lot
of time to do whatever.  The whatever I was choosing to was
to go to the mall way to often or Target
or other shopping places.  Not that I was buying things
every time I went.  I was basically just killing time.
I knew I needed to do something a little more productive
and use my time more wisely.
Should I go to school? But what do I want to be?
How about decorating school?  Where do you go for that?
I like to decorate and paint and do projects around the house.
About that time the hurricanes hit in Texas
and I wondered if I could volunteer for the Red Cross and go there.
I could have left my family for a week to do something like that.
  They could survive without me.
Well I never got quite that far.
That is when Ashley and Kash came back to live with us.
So I guess that was the answer to my question.
I must be needed at home more than I realized.
It has been a good thing to have them with us.
Ash and I have spent a lot of time together
and that has really helped our relationship and I've been
able to help her with Kash.
I guess you don't have to go hundreds of miles away to be helpful to others.
Sometimes its right in our own homes that we are needed the most.
Oh the Red Cross idea is still in the back of my mind.
I guess there will be a time and a place for that adventure-anyone want to come with  me?

11 Months Old

Kash is 11 months old today.
He is very busy ALL over the house!
He is a very happy baby except when
 he is tired or hungry
 and then watch out !!
He will be walking soon.
He walks around the couches
and pulls himself up to everything.
It has been really good having Ash and Kash
living with us for the last 2 months
 it has brought a lot
 of happiness to our family.
Everyone is  so helpful with him and just loves him.
There is always a willing person
 to take him when needed.
We are glad they are here
with us and we love them.

Football

This has been Mason's first year of playing football.
The practices started off
the end of July in the scorching heat.
You can only imagine how
hot and sweaty he was
with all the pads and helmet on.
He would seriously be dripping wet!
They practiced 5 nights a week
the first 4 weeks for 2 hours each practice.
Things 'slowed' down to 3 practices
a week after the games started.
All the hard work payed off when they
made it to the playoffs and played against
 the biggest rival, Bingham.
  Bingham had beaten us earlier
 in the year and now
it was our turn to beat them 6-0!
Mason played an awesome game we were told
(we left him home in the care of
 numerous people
while we went to Mesquite for the weekend).
I'v never been a real big fan
of football
but I've enjoyed watching him and trying
to learn the game.
I still don't get it though.
Mason has the perfect personality for the game.
He's got a more aggressive personality
than the others.
He doesn't think twice before he knocks someone
on their can!!
He's also been knocked on his can
a time or two, but thats how the game
is played!
  Now we will play Grantsville
 this Saturday for the championship!!

  Go Alta!!!

Hair Do or Don't

I was kinda a stalker following this girl
around in Mesquite.
She had cute hair, what can I say?

Nothing But Sun

First Place

Tuff Country Predators

Would you ever think he's a baseball player dressed like that?

We spent the weekend in Mesquite.
 Yes I did say Mesquite.
Why else would one go to Mesquite than to watch their son play baseball.
Let me just say all 5 games were really good.
There were 2 games on Friday and then 2 plus the championship on Saturday.
Braden played absolutely awesome!
He hit 2 home runs and was put in to pitch the first time
with bases loaded and 1 out and struck the next batter out
and then the next one popped out.
The next time bases were loaded and 2 outs
and struck the next batter out to end the inning.
He threw hard and hit very well.
We are very proud of him and the talent he has.
What could be what better than baseball and 80* weather.
Especially when you drive home in the rain and 45*.

A Big Fish Story

Last week Eric was invited to go to a private reservior
in Nevada to go fishing with a
couple of his buddies.
They left Thursday night and drove to Wendover
and hit a couple of casinos
 and did a little gambling
(what else would you do in Wendover?)
 and then
got up Friday morning and drove
another 1 1/2 hours to the lake called
Chittendom Reservior.
The 3 of them sat in their float tubes
from sun up to sun down.
Eric caught one nice fish around 11:00
but the afternoon appeared to be real slow.
After having a tangle in his line
he cut the line and replaced
the fly he had been using all day
 with a jig.
That seemed to solve the problem.
After that he caught 3 more fish.
The one in the picture was the catch of the day.
It is the biggest trout ever caught in his fishing career!!!!
That one fish made the 3 hour drive all worth it.

Great Winter Project

Take your crocheting tools...
and add some thick colorful yarn...

and you get this cute hat!

Last year Kalen saw these tools to make hats and
thought it would be fun to make.
So we bough several colors of yarn and
all the boys have made numerous hats over
the last little while.

It seems to be a great winter project
It's fun and quite easy and keeps them busy!

I think we are ready to try some scarves!!

You can buy the tools and yarn at the craft store or even Wal-Mart.

Pumpkin Carving

Halloween just wouldn't be complete without the carving of pumpkins.
Im not so sure we even did pumpkins last year.
It's always great to have to use your hand to dig out the gross slimy guts and seeds.
Then to have to design a face for the pumpkin can be somewhat challenging.
Our pumpkins turned out quite unique.
This was Kash's first Halloween.  He quite enjoyed the guts and seeds!

 Happy Halloween!!

Can You Tie A Knot?

What a great bunch of kids.  We love 'em!

Are we tying blankets or watching the game?  You decide.

Our family spent the evening tying a couple
of blankets to donate to Primary Children's Hospital.
Ashley's work asked for any donations and we figured we can
all tie knots so we should make a couple blankets.
We had lots of helpers.

P. S. Im trying to redeem myself after my earlier post.
I can be nice.

Hairstyle of the Week

Are mullets making a come back?
                                                I hope not!!!!

Did these two plan their matching outfits?

For all of you who have been contemplating
a new hairstyle I have got the perfect one.
This 'mullet' hairstyle is great for someone who...

Likes long hair but doesn't have the time to style it.
Likes a wash and wear style.
Likes long hair but hates it in their face.
Likes short hair but needs to be able to pull it back.
or
Just can't decide if they want it long or short.

This style gives you the best of both worlds.
The easiness of short hair with
luxury of long hair.

Here's to the return of the 'Mullet'!!!!!

Ok so this probably isn't the nicest entry but I hope it makes you laugh!!!
